invites to participate in lectures / workshops by Canadian Professors: Frances Leeming and Kim Sawchuk

1. Thursday, 19th March, 11:30-13:00, room 051.

Prof. Frances Leeming will give a lecture on "The Semiotics of LIFE." She will also screen her early film "The Orientation Express," which explores issues of gender and representation on the basis of 3 decades of LIFE magazine.

2. Monday, March 23rd 2009, 11:30

Prof. Kim Sawchuk will deliver a lecture : "Celebrity Science: Looking at LIFE." Prof. Frances Leeming will show her experimental film: "Genetic Admiration."

3. Monday, March 23rd 2009, 15:00-17:00

Prof. Kim Sawchuk will conduct a workshop on Media and Communication Studies: "Forms and the Transformation of Media-Related Research."

All interested students are requested to contact dr Eugenia Sojka at esojka2000@yahoo.ca. Persons participating in the workshop and in Prof. Leeming?s and Prof. Sawchuk?s lectures on March 19th and March 23rd 2009 will obtain diplomas confirming their participation in the short program offered by the Canadian specialists in Media Studies.
